چکیده

Despite the continuous evolution on performance of refractory ceramic products, monolithic materials still require special attention during their processing steps as various phase transformations may take place curing, drying and firing stages. Drying is usually longest most critical process observed first heating cycle linings, enhanced particle packing reduced permeability resulting microstructure lead to recurrent explosive spalling mechanical damage associated with dewatering development high steam pressure at inner regions such dense materials. In this context, review article mainly addresses (i) theoretical aspects related refractories, (ii) influence derived from binder additives, (iii) usual advanced experimental techniques assess water removal consolidated castable pieces. Many studies have pointed out that due complex nature phenomenon (i.e., considering combined thermal stresses pore pressure, heterogeneous microstructure, evolving structure temperature, etc.), mechanisms behind withdrawal castables are lacking further understanding and, consequently, it has been difficult save time energy industrial equipment lined On other hand, different methods used for assessment many efforts carried in applying situ imaging (such NMR neutron tomography) follow moisture treatments.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Aggregation Analysis of Therapeutic Proteins, Part 1: General Aspects and Techniques for Assessment

stable in solution, undergoing conformational changes due to various stresses during purification, processing and storage. Such stresses can include elevated temperature, shear strain, surface adsorption, and high protein concentration (1). Structurally altered proteins have a strong tendency to aggregate, often leading to eventual precipitation (2). Irreversible aggregation is a major problem ...

Remote Sensing Techniques to Assess Water Quality

Remote sensing techniques can be used to monitor water quality parameters (i.e., suspended sediments (turbidity), chlorophyll, and temperature). Optical and thermal sensors on boats, aircraft, and satellites provide both spatial and temporal information needed to monitor changes in water quality parameters for developing management practices to improve water quality. Recent and planned launches...

INFLUENCE OF NANO SILICA ON PROPERTIES AND MICROSTRUCTURE OF HIGH ALUMINA ULTRA-LOW CEMENT REFRACTORY CASTABLES

Colloidal silica bonded refractory castables have been developed recently. It was found that colloidal silica is one of the best binders can substitute other binders such as cement in No Cement Castable (NCC) and Ultra Low Cement Castable (ULCC) refractories. Also composition of colloidal silica with appropriate additives resulted in a gel form which makes the initial strength. Moreover, the na...

Virus removal efficiency of Cambodian ceramic pot water purifiers.

Virus removal efficiency is described for three types of silver-impregnated, ceramic water filters (CWFs) produced in Cambodia. The tests were completed using freshly scrubbed filters and de-ionized (DI) water as an evaluation of the removal efficiency of the virus in isolation with no other interacting water quality variables. Removal efficiencies between 0.21 and 0.45 log are evidenced, which...
